The KOSC consortium has been approved by the French competition authority for the takeover of COMPLETEL's DSL network
The KOSC consortium has been approved by the French competition authority for the takeover of COMPLETEL's DSL network.
In a
press release dated December 22, 2015, the French competition authority (
Autorité de la concurrence) announced that it authorized the KOSC consortium to take over COMPLETEL's DSL network.
This authorization follows the competition authority's decision 14-DCC-160 of October 30, 2014, whereby it had authorized NUMERICABLE, ALTICE's subsidiary, to acquire SFR subject to compliance with certain commitments. In particular, NUMERICABLE committed to transfer COMPLETEL's DSL network to another operator to guarantee the respect of competition rules on telecommunications business markets.
The KOSC consortium, composed of the companies COFIP, KAPIX, STYX and OVH, is therefore approved by the competition authority for the takeover of COMPLETEL's DSL network. The competition authority has recognized that "the members of the consortium have significant expertise in the telecommunications sector and the relevant skills to operate COMPLETEL's DSL network".
The divestiture of DSL's network to the KOSC consortium should stimulate competition in telecommunications business markets.
